pink challah

Sometimes you just need to add some color to your table.

So why don't use a natural color from Beet Water that gives a Beautiful pink color?

I started to add the Pink Challah to my baking classes and workshops for kids and adults and it became a hit and a very healthy popular class.

Everyone likes to play with clored dough, don't you agree?

Pink Challah


1/2 cup beet water

3/4 cup water

2tbs dry yeast

4 cups flour

¼ cup sugar

2tsp salt

¼ cup vegetable oil


In a large bowl mix together the beet water and the yeast.

Add the flour, sugar, salt and oil. Mix with your hands to a soft dough. In case the dough is dry, add 1tbs of water. Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rest for half an hour. Take the dough and design any shape. Let it rest for 1.5 hours. Brush with an egg and bake for 30 min on 350°F (180°C)
